[9927] Richard m. Oct. 20, 1945 at Cleveland, OH Ruth Buchanan and r. 34700 Sherwood Drive, Solon, OH - he is an attorney - they had no child. "News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio]," 1 January 1947, p. 11: "Thirty years ago this morning, a small boy made his indignant, protesting entry into the world at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Glen Armold, who then lived at 154 Sturges avenue. That young son and heir, later named Richard Dean, became the third member of the Armold household just three minutes after midnight while the bells still were ringing out in celebration of the new year. He was the first baby born in Mansfield in 1917. The gay and auspicious atmosphere of that hour has followed young Armold through the intervening years. Today he is an attorney for the Land Title Guaranty Trust company of Cleveland, a more-than-ordinarily responsible job for a man who has just turned 30. YOUNG ARMOLD WAS A healthy, robust baby. 'He even escaped most of the usual childhood diseases,' his mother recalls. There seemed to be always something a little 'special' about things that happened Richard. He was baptized in the First Presbyterian church with water from the River Jordan and is still a good Presbyterian, according to Mrs. Armold. 'He decided when he was 12 that he wanted to be a lawyer,' his mother remembers, 'and he has never changed his mind. I think perhaps it was because we took him to a trial when he was 12. He was so intensely interested and fell so much in love with the judge that he decided right then and thete he was going to study law. And then, too, he was leader of his neighborhood gang and always liked to settle their disputes.' FROM GRADE SCHOOL AT Carpenter, young Armold went with his chums to Mansfield Senior high school. There he continued his avid interest in books and indulged in all the high school sports and social events. 'He liked to dance and he sang in the a cappella choir and even played the saxophone in the high school band,' Mrs. Armold said. 'His interest in sports he carried with him over into Wooster college, where he played football. Although he didn't major in history, he continued his interest in it and because he had read so much when a boy, I suppose, he found himself with a major status in that, although he hadn't really gone after it.' AFTER HE HAD RECEIVED his BA degree at Wooster, he entered the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, where for one year he delved into the intricacies of corporation law. He then matriculated at Western Reserve university to receive at the end of three years his LLB degree. He was about to enter service, Mrs. Armold said, when his job with the Republic Steel was frozen and he remained there under government jurisdiction during 1943, 44 and 45. A little more than a year ago he entered the employ of the Cleveland firm with which he is now connected. A year ago he married Miss Ruth Buchanan of Pulaski, Pa. She will come to Mansfield with her husband today to celebrate with Dr. and Mrs. Armold at their home, 755 Andover road, not only New Year's day, but the 30th birthday anniversary of the Armolds' child."

[55701] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 3 February 2024: "Portland - On January 27, 2024, I received the greatest miracle from my heavenly father as I passed over into his spiritual kingdom and I am now with my beloved soulmate, Cody, and all our love ones called before me. To all my family still enjoying God's beautiful earth, know that I will be watching over you and I will see you all again. I was born in Bangor, Maine, to the late Eugene and Lucy Gardner. Besides my parents, I was predeceased by my soulmate, Cody Sherman Sr.; and my ex-husband and good friend, James W. Fredericks. My career started in customer service with a Bangor company, and then I transferred to their Portland location. While we were building our new home in Gorham, I started a new career in the printing industry and worked my way into management with that company. I continued in management with one other company before making one last career move into human resources. Then, thirteen years later in 2013 I retired. Cody had retired in 2012, so together we enjoyed the great outdoors, from biking, hiking, and the many beaches. Cody and I both had a love for music, and we wrote many songs together. Our home was always filled with the sound of drums, guitars, singing, and much laughter. But mostly we treasured every moment of family time with all our kids and grandkids. Surviving me are my three sons, Tom, wife, Stacia and their son; and Troy, wife, Jessica, and their three sons; and Nathan, ex-wife, Becky and their two sons. In addition are Cody's children: a son, Cody Jr.; and a daughter, Kelley and husband, Jeffrey, and their three sons; siblings, Gail Pelkey, Jean Achorn and Gary Gardner; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends. As per my request, only a private family burial will be held. My ashes will be buried with partial ashes of Cody Sr., and will be placed in Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, Maine. A special thanks to all the staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough, Maine.

John Marlin was born on 17 Oct 1792 in Madison Co., Alabama. He died on 12 Mar 1847 in Bucksnort, Limestone Co., Texas. John married Mary Celia Menefee, daughter of Nimrod Perry Menefee and Jemima Ingram, on 3 Apr 1817 in Rutherford Count, Rutherford Co., Tn. Mary was born about 1800 in Tennessee. She died on 6 Feb 1845 in Bucksnort, Falls Co., Texas. The John Marlin family were involved in every aspect of the settlement and establishment of government in the area now known as Falls County, Texas. With the establishment of Falls County in 1850 out of parts ofLimestone and Milam Counties, the settlement previously known as "Adams" and "Adams Springs" was changed to "Marlin" in honor of the late John Marlin, and this town became the County Seat of the new Falls County. In the Autobiography of George Washington Morgan filed under "Paper concerning Robertson's Colony in Texas," Volume VIII, John is referred to as Jno. (I have always been under the assumption that that was an abreviation of Jonathan) Later on in the recounting it names him as John. In the recollections of An Early Settler in Falls County, states: Marlin in '36 (1836) was nothing more than the family of John Marlin, who lived at Marlin's Springs on the edge of the Brazos bottom, about two miles from the site of the present town, with the families of Colonel Sam Gholson and George Morgan. John Marlin lived in a double log house made of hewn cedar logs. His family consisted of himself, wife and six children, four sons and two daughters' his oldest son William P., his oldest daughter Louisa; next sons Rufus, Ashley and Oakley D., and his youngest daughter Emily....
