[53470] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 8 April 2022: "Mapleton - Preston Lee Kenney, 75, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was born, February 28, 1947, in Presque Isle, the son of Harold and Phyllis Welts Kenney. Preston grew up in Mapleton and loved working on the family farm and racing horses all over the state. As he got older, his love of racing moved from horses to his Camaro. Preston served his country in the US Army during Vietnam, and was honorably discharged as a SP5. Preston loved spending time riding the trails in the ranger with his wife. He adored his grandchildren and loved watching them participate in their many activities and interests. When not spending time with his family, he could be found at Porter Farms, watching the harvest unfold. Every year he had the pleasure of roasting his family during the Annual Kenney Family Reunion Auction, and no one got away from his teasing! Preston was a man that many said was "larger than life." His laugh, his grin, and his many stories would keep many entertained for hours. He was employed for thirty years with Great Northern Paper Company and upon retiring from there he owned and operated Maine Welding Fabrication. Preston was a previous member of the Castle Hill Selectmen, Young Farmers, Castle Hill Grange, and the Castle Hill Snowmobile Club. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda (Duprey) Kenney, daughters; Andrea Hallett and her husband, Christopher, Jessica Ham and her husband, Derek; the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Jake Rasque and his wife, Grace, Jack and Emily Hallett, and Lynsie Ham; as well as his great-granddaughter, Natalie Rasque. Preston also leaves behind his siblings, Gary Kenney and his wife, Joan, and Joyce Humphrey. In addition to his parents, Harold and Phyllis Kenney, he was predeceased by a brother, Brian Kenney."
