She died on November 17, 1896, in Ashland, Ohio, having lived a long life of 83 years, and was buried there."

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the James Dyke Funeral Home, this city. Rev. William I. Swaim, Jr., Executive Secretary of the Presbyterian Home, will have charge of the service and Interment will be made in Fountain Springs cemetery. Mrs. Bright, the former Bertha Slanker, was a resident of this community for 43 years and was a member of the Presbyterian Church here. She was married to John M. Bright, former building contractor, February 10, 1897. Survivors are one son, William, of Chester, and two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Minnie Wolfgang, Gordon; Mrs. Robert Geist, Bethlehem, and George Slanker, Gordon."

On Aug. 23, 1930, she married Dr. E.T. Donahue, a dentist, in Oxford. He died on May 29, 1987. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and Social Service.
