[8512] Thomas' obituary: "Tom was born in Montpelier, Ohio to Pleasant and Josie Spivy. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1933. He moved to California in 1937 and married the love of his life, Elsie Mitchell, in 1938. He worked for PG&E for 42 years. They were blessed with a son, Gary, and a daughter, Janet. Tom was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, most recently attending the Highland Church of Christ. He resided happily at Glenwood Gardens for the last four years. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; son, Gary; brothers, Lyle, Willard, and Clifford; and a sister, Ruth. Left to honor his memory are his daughter, Janet Marshall and husband, Larry and grandsons, Jeff and wife, Barbara, Brian and wife, Jill, and Brent and wife, Pam; daughter-in-law, Vickie Spivy and grandsons, David and wife, Kim, all of Bakersfield, and Mike and wife, Meredith of Washington; great- grandchildren, Kayleigh, Caitlyn, Hannah and Jordan Marshall, and Mason and Max Spivy; his sister, Rachel Straw of Rogersville, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, and an abundance of friends."
