[18718] Find A Grave memorial 703821 offers: "Holland Monarch, French Royalty. Called the 'Flower of the Bonapartes', she was born Hortense Eugenie, the daughter of Alexandre, Vicomte de Beauharnais and Josephine Tascher de la Pagerie. Her father was executed during the Reign of Terror, and her mother then married Napoleon Bonaparte, becoming Empress of France. At the request of her new adopted father, Hortense married his brother Louis Bonaparte on January 3, 1802. Shortly thereafter Napoleon made the couple King and Queen of Holland. Although three sons were born, the union was an unhappy one (the paternity of at least one of the sons can be called into question), and they seperated in 1810. Hortense had a fourth son by her long-time lover, the Count of Flahaut. Despite the dissolution of her mother's marriage to Napoleon and the unhappy state of her own marriage, Hortense was a loyal Bonapartist, and supported Napoleon after his return from exile on Elba in 1815. After Napoleon's final defeat, Hortense was banished from France. She settled in Arenenberg, Switzerland where she died at the age of 54. Her eldest son Charles would become Emperor Napoleon III."
[33143] This line is from the unverified OneWorldTree in Ancestry.com in 2012. Find A Grave Memorial 165357677 offers: "Mary Mercy Frisdell was married to Benjamin Buffington on 29 Nov. 1755 at Old Swede's Church, Wilmington, Delaware, British America. The identity of her parents is presently a mystery. Her name is spelled as "Frisdell" in the transcription of records of that church, but her surname is referred to by many as 'Frissell.' Mercy bore eight children with her husband, Revolutionary War solider Benjamin Buffington. She held down the farm and responsibilities of child raising while her husband and her two eldest sons left to fight for American independence. This was a time when hostilities between the Native Americans and the early colonists could flare, and did, with horrific consequences. The 'Big Runaway,' for example, occurred around 1778. Mercy died somewhere around 1777 and before November of that year when her husband appeared with his new wife for an estate settlement from her deceased husband. Mercy would have been only about 47 years old at the time of her death. Her youngest child was only about seven years old. The original stones at the Short Mountain cemetery were long ago removed and now all that stands is the group stone erected by the Hoffman family association. However, Mercy must have been buried at this spot because her widower instructed his heirs that he wanted to be buried beside Mercy and it is known for a fact that he was buried at this location. Please note that at the time of Mercy's death, Lykens Valley was still part of Lancaster county, Pennsylvania. It is now in Dauphin county."
