Keefover, 91, Wakarusa, formerly of Waterville, died Friday evening, Feb. 28, 1992, at the McCrite Plaza Health Center in Topeka. A graveside service was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the Riverside Cemetery in Waterville. The Rev. Susan Daniel of Waterville United Methodist Church officiated. Claire Youngberg sang 'On Eagle's Wings' and 'Amazing Grace' at the cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Keefover, James Keefover, Michael Keefover, Doyle Berger, Gregory Berger and Charles Dover. Youngberg Funeral Home of Waterville was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waterville United Methodist Church. He was bom Oct 14, 1900, at Waterville, the son of James and Nora Scholfield Keefover. He attended Waterville High School and then enrolled in Barber College in Kansas City, Mo. in 1923. He barbered for 50 years in Waterville and the surrounding area and in Topeka. After he retired from barbering, he worked at the, Topeka Moose Lodge as a cook's helper. He married Mary E. Rice in 1922 at Waterville. He was a former member of the Waterville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Topeka Moose Lodge. Survivors are his wife, Mary E. Keefover, Wakarusa; five sons, Jean Keefover, Columbus, Ga., James Keefover, Boise, Idaho, Rolland Keefover, Michael Keefover and Daniel Keefover, all of Topeka; five daughters, Jacqueline Berger, Topeka, Joan Hammett, Dewey, Ill., Geraldine Seward, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., DeAnn Humphrey, Champaign, Ill., and Claudette Spain, Rock Springs, Ariz.; a brother, Verne Keefover, Colorado Springs; 29 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild."
