[15657] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Howard,_3rd_Duke_of_Norfolk offers: Thomas "was a prominent Tudor politician. He was uncle to Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, two wives of King Henry VIII, and played a major role in the machinations behind these relationships. After falling from favour, he was stripped of his dukedom and imprisoned in the Tower of London, but was released on the accession of Queen Mary I. He aided Mary in securing her throne, setting the stage for alienation between his Catholic family and the Protestant royal line that would be continued by his great-niece, Queen Elizabeth I. ...He first married Anne of York, daughter of King Edward IV and the former Lady Elizabeth Woodville on 4 February 1494 at Greenwich Palace. The couple had at least two children: Thomas Howard (c. 1496-1508) and a stillborn child (c. 1499). There are also suggestions of two other short-lived sons, Henry and William Howard, resulting from this marriage. Following Anne's death in 1511, he married Lady Elizabeth Stafford, daughter of Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham and Lady Eleanor Percy on 8 January 1512. They had three children: Lady Mary Howard (c. 1513-1555), who married Henry FitzRoy, 1st Duke of Richmond and Somerset, illegitimate son of Henry VIII; Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey (1517-1547), who was one of the founders of Renaissance poetry; and Lord Thomas Howard (c.1520-1582), later 1st Viscount Howard of Bindon. His marriage to Elizabeth was unhappy. When Elizabeth complained about his mistress, Bess Holland, the Duke beat her. The couple remained estranged until Norfolk's death."

He was surrounded by his family and his three children stood by his side. Steve was a 13 - generation Mainer who was born and attended grade school in Cape Elizabeth, the son of Robert Crossland Russ and Madelene Weeks Bunker. He grew up spending summers at a cottage on Cape Rosier in Brooksville, and loved spending time there with family throughout his life. Later in life Steve found great importance and comfort in his faith. Just prior to his passing the nurses and staff at the Gray Birch facility frequently stopped by his room to share their fondness of Steve. He was a kind and loving person who always had time to listen to others and share advice, and he made friends anywhere he went. He was an 'old hippie' who attended Woodstock and shared his love of music with his children. His son Nathaniel remembers peaceful Saturday night car rides with his brother Abel and their dad, listening to a weekly Celtic music program on NPR while cruising along country roads. Steve loved baseball and his children have great memories of long wiffle ball games at their grandparents' home in Cape Elizabeth. Steve will be greatly missed by his family. Surviving are his wife, Judith Russ; son, Abel Russ, Abel's wife, Jessica Scott, and grandsons, Obadiah and Kai of Saint George, Vermont; son, Nathaniel Russ of Bangor; daughter, Alexie Russ-Mapson, her husband, Nathan Mapson; and granddaughters, Zoe and Niamh of Colorado Springs, Colorado; stepson, Daniel Aho, his wife, Stevie, and their children, Eva and Nea of Cumberland; brother, Joel Russ of Walpole, Maine; nephew, Andrew Russ of Damariscotta; and nephew, Matthew Russ of Waterville."
