This led to complaints and in Mar 1647/8 the Court appointed Capt. Miles Standish to visit the town and settle the differences. Mr. Star, William Nickerson and Robert Dennis were added to the committee to apportion land for the following year. This led to acrimony and assorted defamation and slander suits by and against William and others. In Oct 1650 the Court ordered the suits to cease. In Jun 1665 the court had ruled that Monomoit was part of Yarmouth. This was inconvenient as the two were not connected. In 1667 the constable of Yarmouth, Mr. Thomas Howes, met with a hostile reception. In Jun 1668 the court ruled that Monomoit was part of Eastham."

He had one son with Eva Catharina Dewes on January 2, 1749. He died on August 8, 1771, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, at the age of 51."
[52624] Winslow is son of Ara Nelson (1889-1966) & Frances Estelle Ogden (b. in 1889; m. 4 July 1907 in Lee, Penobscot Co., ME). Wonslow served in the military during World War II. He died by drowning.

He name was on the list of freemen dated March 7, 1636/7. He received land grants on the "Duxburrow side" (Duxbury). He was a member of the jury which convicted three Englishmen of the murder of an Indian on Sept. 4, 1638. He married wife, Isabel Harper in 1608 in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England. On July 16, 1649, he wrote his will mentioning son, FRANCIS, my ancestor. Also mentioned are wife, Isabel; daughter, Annis Rouse; sons, Thomas, Francis & William Peabody; grandson, John Paybody, son of William, and John Rouse, son of John Rouse."
