[1863] Dagobert I was Merovingian King of Austrasia, 622-628, and sole King of France, 628-639. He published a code of laws and is considered the greatest of the Merovingian House. He was thrice married. He founded the renouned Abbey of Saint Denis. About 630 he married Ragnetrude__________. Fr. Funck-Brentano ("A History of Gaul", p. 274) opines "The reign of Dagobert is the most brilliant period in the monarchy of the fifth and sixth centuries. He may be regarded as the Louis XIV of the Merovingians." http://www.friesian.com/francia.htm#clovis reports that Dagobert I also had Clovis II, King of Neustria and Burgundy (638-657). http://www.aritek.com/hartgen/htm/of-the-west-franks.htm states that he is son of Clothaire's wife Haldetrude de Burgundy (not verified). http://www.art-science.com/Ken/Genealogy/PD/ch47_Girls.html offers: "Dagobert I was the child of Bertrude (590 - 618), daughter of Ricomer de Bourgogne, Clothaires second wife, the first, Altrude or Ragentrude, had died in 600, possibly in childbirth. A much stronger character than his father, he patronised the arts & founded the abbey of Saint Denis, where he died in 639. In 631 he sent an army to help the Visigothic usurper in Spain. The royal line from Dagobert did not at first appear to be Delaforce ancestral but it did impinge on our history, see Eudes in the next chapter. However, his son Clovis II was of the line of Toulouse & so was Dagobert's unnamed daughter's family. Dagobert was a hard man & his equally tough son Clovis II, who inherited Neustria & Burgundy, married Balthilde, an English slave girl but of aristocratic family, bought by Grimoald, the Palace Mayor from pirates for the purpose. Pepin the Short in 751. Dagobert's other son Sigibert, inherited the Kingdom of Austrrasia & is not a Delaforce but his son, Dagobert II, had a legendary life until his murder. His adventures, being carried off to Ireland etc, are well, if not necessarily accurately, documented but the Catholic Church had tried to remove him from the record, as he seems to have been a sort of atheist." Brian Hogan (hogan@writeme.com) shared Elizabeth and John as parents of John Burris - via email 6/2001. He also shared many of their descendants. See PA Magazine of History, 31:215-253 which gives the family.
Pat Mason Harris offered via email (PatCLARE@aol.com) 15 Aug 2004: "The only Burroughs mentioned are on page 252, and they are the children of John Burroughs and his wife Ester/Esther. The children have the same dates as a couple posts on Genforum.....so I am sure the dates of birth are correct, but the parents are John Burroughs and wife Ester/Esther Burroughs, at least on this Bible record ...now it is possible from some of the other entries that it might be Esther Bibbe and not Elizabeth....since there is an Esther Bibbe with a birthdate of 16 Nov 1710....and from Rootsweb I find John Burroughs born about 1709. Esther Bibbe would have been most likely the daughter of Mary Bibbe who was the widow of Edmund/Edmond Bibbe....and that Mary Bibbe married William Manlove. There is an entry next to Esther Bibbe for Matthew Bibbe b 19 Jan 1712/13. Mary Bibbe married William Manlove on 6 December 1716. William Burroughs, born in 1738/9 and died in 1797 I am pretty sure is in my family....I think he was married to Mary Mason b 1748 , daughter of Joseph Mason of Isaac , because Sarah Burroughs was married to Jacob Mason, son of Joseph Mason of Isaac. But Sarah Mason Burroughs is proven by the will of her mother Ann widow? Burroughs who marries second George Waller. Sarah Mason Burrough's second husband was Morgan Williams... Born to Lithuanian immigrant parents, Joseph and Lena Fisher, and raised in Sebec, Maine, Anna married Carl E. Perkins in July 1946. In late-1963, Anna, Carl, their four children, and Anna's father moved to Orono, Maine where Carl was employed at the University of Maine as the head of the University's Transportation Department. In 1965, Anna also joined the University of Maine family working as secretary to the Dean of Men and later joining the Chemical Engineering Department for more than 25 years as Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Chemical Engineering Department. Many of the Chemical Engineering and Pulp and Paper students became her 'adopted children,' often spending time at their Orono home. Upon Anna's retirement in August 1991, a scholarship fund was established in her name for her contribution to the Chemical Engineering Department, and for 'giving unselfishly to the faculty, students, staff, and alumni which she served with diligence and care.' Following the death of her husband in 2000, Anna moved to Virginia to live with her daughter, Sue, joining the United Christian Parish, the Newcomers Club of Reston, and making many new, and long-lasting friendships. Many of these friends often spoke of her resilience, humor, and especially her Maine accent that never went away. Anna is survived by her son Glenn, his wife Linda and grandson Brian, granddaughter Charity and great grandsons Brody and Landon, grandson Todd and great grandson Keegyn; daughter Susan, grandson Matthew and wife Shauna, and great grandsons Barrett and August; son Jerry and his wife Marita, grandson Josh and wife Sarah, and great grandchildren Conner, Isaac, and Meredith; granddaughter Meghan and great granddaughter Nora; and granddaughter JoAnna and her husband Matt; and her son Brian and his wife Kristen and granddaughter Abigail. Anna will be buried at a graveside service at the Sebec Cemetery in the summertime.

Stephen died in St. Andrew's Parish, Undershaft, London. His children are Thomas, Ellen, Grissell and Ann. He was a merchant tailor, master of the Merchant Tailor's Company in London, merchant of the Staple of Calais, etc. See NEHGR, April 2000, 225-226.
From "Cassie's Tree" in Ancestry.com in 2011:
Stephen Kirton (1510-1566) was an Alderman of London and merchant of Staple in Calais.
The Merchants of the Staple, also known as the Merchant Staplers, was an English company which controlled the export of wool to the continent during the late medieval period.
The company of the staple may perhaps trace its ancestry back as far as 1282 or even further, but probably the safest date to accept would be 1359.
From 1314, the Crown required all wool for export to be traded at a designated market, called 'the staple'. This allowed the Crown to monitor the trade and levy tax on exports. After Calais was conquered in 1347 by the English, Calais was the staple from 1363, after that right had been assigned in turns to Bruges and Antwerp in the first half of the 14th century. A group of twenty-six traders was incorporated as the Company of the Staple at Calais. In exchange for its cooperation in the payment of taxes, the company was granted a total monopoly on wool exports from England. The company was important to the English crown, both as a source of revenue, and through its role in the defence of Calais against the French.
As domestic cloth production increased, raw wool exports were less important, diminishing the power of the Merchants. In 1558, with the loss of Calais to the French, the staple was transferred to Bruges where the Merchant Staplers continued to enjoy their monopoly on exports. However, in 1614, export of raw wool was banned entirely during the Cockayne Project of William Cockayne and wool was traded only in domestic staples. The project failed however, because the Estates-General of the Netherlands banned the import of cloth from England. In 1617 the English lifted their ban, but the Dutch ban remained in place. The Merchant Staplers continued to exist, but only in local markets.
