He was born on August 26, 1927, to Stuart and Hazel (Dean) Brackett in Belfast, Maine. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. In 1952, he married Betty Jones and they subsequently relocated to an old family home in Springfield, Maine. Here Stuart was best known for his years as a dedicated bus driver and custodian at the elementary school, and later at Lee Academy. His most treasured leisure time was spent at his camp which he and Betty built on Dobsis lake. Stuart is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (Jones) Brackett of Bangor; daughter, Lynn Irish and her husband Randy; son, Richard Brackett and his wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Justin Irish, Jillian Rourke, Galen Brackett, and Amanda Brackett; 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Merrithew, and brothers, George Brackett and Fred Brackett."

Willinhall is just east of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands, NW of Birmingham, England. http://www.shercliff.demon.co.uk/WHS/streetl.htm offers information on the naming of "Leveson Street [in Willenhal]. Named after the Leveson family, who were lords of the Manor of Stowheath, and a branch of which family lived in nearby Moat House and owned extensive lands in the area. Richard Leveson was in Willenhall at the time of the reign of Edward the First (1272 to 1307) as lessee of the prebendal Manor and holder of a considerable estate in the Kings manor of Stowheath. The family also owned a house at Snow Hill Wolverhampton and also Trentham Hall. They made their considerable fortune from the wool trade, then the main industry in the Wolverhampton area. The Leveson's, like the Lane's of Bentley were Roman Catholics and fought on the side of the King during the Civil War. Thomas Leveson was a Colonel in the Kings army and was the Governor of Dudley Castle which he successfully defended until it was surrendered when the war ended. When John Leveson died about 1750 there was no male heir and the property passed jointly to his three daughters but by 1763 all their holdings in Willenhall had been sold off and the family left the area. By the turn of the century the house had gone although the grounds with their surrounding moat remained until the area was re-developed during the 1800's. It is believed that Moat House was built during Tudor Times and the Hearth Tax returns for Willenhall for 1666 show that it had 10 hearths, the largest building in the town."

Small, 70, of Etna, passed peacefully at Orono Commons on Feb. 24, 2021, after suffering health issues and the loss of his wife, May Dawn, in December. Lou was born at home in Milo on April 12, 1950. The family moved to Connecticut and then back to Maine in 1959, settling in Etna. Lou was a 1970 graduate of Hermon High School. He worked construction and driving truck until injured. He also was a member of Carmel and Etna Fire Departments for several years. He married May Dawn Tatro in 1978, and they lived in Etna until health required living assistance. Lou loved to take trips short or long. He would get his dog, grandkids and May Dawn into the truck, off they would go, only him knowing destinations. Louis is survived by 3 sisters, Mary Rogers of Etna, Linda McKusick of Newburgh and Karen Small of Corinth; 1 nephew and 4 nieces; stepchildren, George Tatro of Holden, Darla Crawford of Orland and Judy Moore of Holden; 8 grandkids, 19 great-grandkids and 2 great-great-grandkids. Captain Weld's land is now much of present day Jamaica Plain. With the wealth generated from this grant, Joseph Weld became one of the first donors to Harvard and a founder of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts."
