He was born September 26, 1926 in Jonesport the son of Vineyard and Faustina "Tina" (Young) Ray. Bob work was a Co Captain with his father Vineyard on the sardine carrier the "EVA GRACE" for Stinson Sardine Company for 20 years. He also worked as a Mail Carrier for 17 years for US Postal Service. He was a United States Army Veteran Servicing during WWII. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 207 of Trenton. He was proud United States Veteran who flew his flag on a daily basis and a proud recipient of his WWII Walking Cane from Coles Museum in Bangor. Bob enjoyed his scooter, watching sports, his dog snuggles and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Kathleen "Kay" (Dow) Ray of Birch Harbor, one son Gregory Ray and his wife Loretta of Bar Harbor, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two sisters; Juanita Stanwood of Brewer, Christine Dow and her husband Neal of Ellsworth and Florida, one brother Irving "Snookie" Ray of Winter Harbor, several nieces, nephews and cousins, one special niece Rose White of Otis. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one daughter Pamela Ray Lounder. A military graveside service will be held at the Corea Cemetery."
