She is survived by a son, Dwinald Lint Sr. of Wallingford, CT., a sister, Lavina Dyer of Presque Isle, 7 grandchildren, Dwinald Jr., Cheryl, Richard, Randall and Craig Lint, Lesley Doebler and Evelyn Braudrick, 12 great grandchldren, several nieces and nephews. Pyvog, the daughter of an Irish noble, was his mother. 'Brut Ieuan Brechfa' (Myv. Arch. ii. 720) wrongly states that Owain married her in 1130. In 1143, taking advantage of a quarrel between his father and his uncle Cadwaladr (d. 1172) [q.v.], Howel seized some part of Ceredigion, and burnt his uncle's castle of Aberystwith. In the following year, in the course of a quarrel with Sir Hugh de Mortimer, Howel and his brother Cynan ravaged Aberteifi or Cardigan. In 1145, in conjunction with Cadell, son of Gruffydd ab Rhys [q.v.], prince of South Wales, he took Carmarthen Castle. In the next year, however, Howel apparently changed sides, and joined his forces to those of the Normans against the sons of Gruffydd, who had marched against the castle of Gwys. Both sides invited his aid; but the promise of 'much property' seems to have turned the scale in favour of the Norman alliance, and Howel's intervention insured the success of his allies (Brut y Tywysogion,RollsSer. p. 172,MS.D.; cf. also another account on the same page). In the same year he and his brother Cynan were engaged in a quarrel with Cadwaladr. The brothers called out the men of Meirionydd, 'who had taken refuge in churches,' marched thence and took the castle of Cynvael (ib. p. 174). In 1150 Howel suffered a series of reverses. The sons of Gruffydd ab Rhys took his portion of Ceredigion except the castle of Pengwern, and in 1152 that also fell into their hands. In 1157 Henry II made an effort to subjugate Gwynedd, and at the battle of Basingwerk was defeated by Owain and his sons, among whom was Howel (Ann. Cambr.p. 46,Rolls Ser., which gives the date as 1148; cf.Gir. Cambr.It. Cambr.vi.137,Rolls Ser.) In 1158 Howel was engaged with a mixed force of French, Normans, Flemings, English, and Welsh against Lord Rhys ab Gruffydd, who had burnt the castles of Dyved. The expedition, however, did not succeed, and a truce followed. Howel's father died in 1169. According to the version of 'Brut y Tywysogion,' printed in the 'Myvyrian Archæology,' Howel, as Owain's eldest son, thereupon seized the government and kept possession of it for two years. During his absence in Ireland, looking after certain property which came to him in right of his mother and wife, his brother David rose up against him. Howel returned, but he was defeated, wounded in battle, and taken to Ireland, where he is said to have died in 1170, leaving his Irish possessions to his brother Rhirid. According to the 'Annales Cambriæ' (p.53), Howel was killed by his brother David and his men in 1171. An anonymous poem places his death at Pentraeth (in Anglesey?)(Myv. Arch. i. 281), while another, quoted by Price, names Bangor as his burial-place (Hanes Cymru,p. 584). THE MORGRIDE FAMILY - - DERIVATION OF NAME: Centuries ago, there lives in Somerset County, England, Baron Mogg, his domain extending into several counties through a ridge of mountains. The people in that vicinity were called Mogridge acquainted with English people, natives of Somerset and Devonshire who know this to be a historical fact. The Mogridge family is an old English family. At different times and places there is a slight difference in the spelling of the name. It is found in early documents as Mogridge, Moggaridge and Morgradge. Sir Bernard Burke, who is the author of "The Peerage and Baronatage," "History of the Extinct and Dormant Peerage," "The Sanded Gentry," "The General Armory," etc. writes it "Mogridge" and he is considered an authority. The family is mentioned in histories of Sussex, Someretshire and Gloucestershire Counties, England as early as 1623. The earliest ancestor in America was John Moggaridge, who is spoken of in the "York Deeds," Book 4 York, ME; also William and others who lived in the middle and latter part of 1600. John Mogaridge and his son Samuel of York, lived in Old Newbury, Mass., prior to 1700. They were ship builders, and among the earliest shipwrights in New England. Their shipyard was called Mogaridge's Point, for many years; (where Jackman's Wharf is or was) A copy of a contract to build a ship for two Englishmen is preserved in the records of Newburyport, Mass. In the Massachusetts Archives are to be found the names of several Morgrages and Morgridges who were in the Revolutionary War, from York; Amesbury and Newbury. Samuel Mogridge under Brig. Gen. Wadsworth, and William Morgrage, at Bunker Hill, from York. The original Morgrage house is no longer extant in the Castine area, but the original well for the site is. The homestead was passed on down through the family and some where along the line the property changed hands to the Writer Waldo Pierce who didn't keep the property up and the property was sold by Mr. Pierce to the Brownell Family and is still in their family to date April 2000. Also on this site is a family cemetery and as best I could read they are as follows:
Elizabeth D. - wife of Loring T. Cummings and daughter of John H. & Abigail Wilson - died Oct. 8, 1852 - 20 yrs. 2 mo. and 12 days.
Though ye miss the smile of gladness and your home is still and lonely Let no mourning sigh of sadness Rise at what your God hath done

Elijah D. Wilson - died May 23, 1878 - Age 48 yrs 6 mo 3 days (I couldn't read anything else on stone)

Mary J. Wilson - died either 1832 or 1882 (was very hard to read stone worn with age)

???????????? - son of John H. & Abigail Wilson - 23 yrs 3 mo ? days (stone broken and very very worn with age)

The Family Cemetery is visible from highway 166 being marked with a white picket fence just left of the Big Red Barn.
