Born March 16, 1918 in Bound Brook, N.J., he was the son of the late William and Grace McKeehan Greaney and the widower of Dorothy Shughart Greanev. He was a retired after 42 years as owner of Harold Greaney Plumbing, Heating and Electrical Contractor. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was president of Perry Historians, past president of New Bloomfield Borough Council, and vice president of the Historical Society of Perry County, Capital Area Tax Bureau and Cumberland Valley Jim Beam Bottle Club. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Adams Elk Lodge 319 F&AM, Juniata Valley Forest 88 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, West Shore Elks Lodge 2257, Newport Loyal Order of Moose 1562, Legion of the Moose, Newport Social Order of Owls, VFW Post 5049, American Legion 177, New Bloomfield Fire Company (50 years), New Bloomfield Firemen's Club, New Bloomfield Sportsmen's Club, Newport Union No. 1 Hunting Camp, and Williams Grove Steam Engine Association. He was coordinator of the Pride of Susquehanna Riverboat Society and served four terms on Perry Joint School Board. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Kell Greaney; one son, W. Michael Greaney of New Bloomfield; two stepsons, John K. Reighter of Mechanicsburg and L. Jeffrey Mattern of Dover; three sisters, Ellen M. Jacobs of Dauphin, Merna E. Thebes and Ruth M. Wilt, both of New Bloomfield; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. . . . Burial will be in New Bloomfield Cemetery."

She was a member of the former Order of Eastern Star Ruby Chapter No. 31 of Winter Harbor, and of Alcyone Chapter No.71 of Milbridge. Annie loved dancing, chocolate and New York City but not necessarily in that order. She is survived by her children, Rosemary (Johnson) and Ernest West of Gouldsboro, Everett and Penny (Oliverio) Johnson of Ashland, Ky.; grandchildren, Pamela Gerrish, Theresa (Hammond) and Robert Gray of Birch Harbor, Deane and Felicia Johnson of Tupelo, Miss., Arthur Hammond of South Gouldsboro, and Michelle West of Bangor; great-grandchildren, Meghann Brien, Thomas and Robyn Gray, Abbie, Justin and Alycia Hammond; many nieces and nephews; one brother, Walter Harrington; and one sister, Grace Gerrish of Winter Harbor. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Spencer, Frank, Vincent and Arthur; sisters, Bernice and Marguerite."
