[52051] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 23 November 2000, p. 19: "Great Cranberry Isles - Lindon 'Tud' H. Bunker, 91, died Nov. 22, 2000, at an MDI hospital. He was born June 12, 1909, on Cranberry Isles, the son of Henry and Alta (Spurling) Bunker. He attended schools in Cranberry and Patten. In his early years, he went fishing with Elmer Spurling. He was a summer captain for the Arthur Pew family, the Frederick Stout family of Northeast Harbor, and the captain and caretaker for the John Saltonsall family of Great Cranberry Island. Lindon was always around the island and the town docks to give people a helping hand. He worked for Rodi Boats in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. for 22 winters. Tud and his brother-in-law, Red, helped build the Whales Rib Gift Shop. Lindon is survived by his beloved wife, Polly (Bunker) Bunker of Great Cranberry; one son, Allison Bunker and his wife, MaryAnne of Pompano, one daughter, Gaile Colby of Great Cranberry; one brother, Wilfred Bunker of Trenton; many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Arthur H. Bunker; three brothers, Raymond Bunker, Alton Bunker and Alvah Bunker; and one sister, Vincie Hulbert."
