Clouse's "The German Element in Perry County" in "The Perry Review, Vol. 30 - 2009" (Newport, PA: The Perry Historians) which mentions many Briners and related families and their culture. His grave marker inscription: "J. Jacob Briner, Died Aug. 4. 1842 Aged 74 yrs. 8 mos. & 23 days." His will seems to indicate he was b. 11 Nov 1767.
