[30028] "Lydia Gaymer, The Wife of Humphrey Turner of Scituate," NEHGR, Jan. 1997, pp. 289-290 offers: Lydia was an infant when her mother died, and only about 11 years of age when her father died. Richard Gaymer, her father, named her in his will and in this will gave her part of a tenement called the Angell which is located in Ockendon Fee, one of the five manors of Terling. Lydia Gaymer, likely at the age of 17, and Humphrey Turner were married in the parish of Sandon, but there are no records indicating they ever lived there. The author of the article, Vernon Dow Turner, quotes the Else Village Book as an explanation of why the two may have married in Sandon. According to the book, runaway brides in the 17th century in England would marry in Sandon because the Reverend Mr. Dillingham there would perform quick weddings there. It further says that 511 couples had been married this way, and "the parson undoubtedly grew fat on the wedding fees." Lydia in all likelihood, emigrated to Plymouth colony along with her husband and children in 1623. She may also be the "Goody Turner" who joined the Scituate church, 10 Jan 1635/36.

Willey. She married Ezekiel Willey (son of Ezekiel Willey and Mary Rowe)Jan. 1773, Lee, Strafford Co., NH, as per her disposition for a widow's Revolutionary War Pension application. Patty Glover died between Mar.-Sep. 1847, Franklin, Merrimack Co., NH. Known children: Joanna, Susan, Eleanor Sarah, Ezekiel, Lois, Mercy, and Nancy."

John Piper was born in Chester Co , PA on 11-6-1786. Married Mary Wisehaupt on 3-1-1810. Mary died 10-2-1869 at the home of her son William. John before his marriage he learned weaving, purchasing a loom when he was 24. John moved to OH, Jefferson county in 1821 with his wife and 5 children. After 8 yrs being employed in farming and weaving they moved to Chester Twp, Wayne county. He had 11 children: Mary, Elizabeth, Catharine, Jacob, John, Valentine, Nancy, David, William, Henry and George. John had served in the War of 1812."
