He was born May 13, 1934 in Hartland, the son of Donald A. and Jennie M. (Southard) Snowman. Daniel was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1953-1957. Soon after his return home from the service he married Marion Case in Clinton on Dec. 28, 1957. Daniel was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as the Postmaster for the town of Detroit for many years, retiring in 1991. In the early 1950s he was a member of the Hartland Tanners, a triple A baseball team in Hartland. He was a member of the Detroit Recreational Department and served as a Little League coach and a Babe Ruth coach in Detroit as his sons were growing up. He was also a former Scoutmaster for Troop 483 in Detroit. He was a member and past president of the National League of Postmasters, a member of the of the Pittsfield American Legion, a lifetime member of the DAV, a member of Meridian Masonic Lodge in Pittsfield, a member of Anah Shrine and a member of the Anah Shrine Band. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marion C. Snowman of Detroit; three sons and their wives, Michael and Laureen Snowman of Hartland, Thomas and Pam Snowman of Newport, Mark and Audrey Snowman of Palmyra; one brother, David Snowman of Palmyra; one brother-in-law, Floyd Case of Belgrade; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins."
