[21220] "The Standard [Lykens, PA], 20 November 1914," p. 1: "Jonathan Umholtz, a respectable and well known resident of Williamstown, passed away at his home on Market street, Saturday, after an illness of seven weeks. Death resulted from gastritis and other complications. Deceased was born March 8, 1849, at Gratz, and was the son of the late John Umholtz and wife. Forty-three years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Sloane, who preceded him in death four years ago. He is survived by four sisters : Mrs. Shadel of Williamstown, Mrs. Amanda Peuser aad Mrs. C. Hoffman of Gratz, and Mrs. Erdman of Loyalton. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Wahley of Williamstown, and three sons: Henry and Gurney of Harrisburg, and Norman of Williamstown. With the exception of a few Mr. Umholtz has spent thirty years of his life in Williamstown, coming here when the town was but in its infancy. He located on the old 'Squire Hain farm and resided there for several years, after which he removed to Williamstown, where he has since resided and proved himself an amiable citizen and kind neighbor."
