On October 14, 1804, Catherine was married to John Schwartz from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, by Rev. H.A. Muhlenberg at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Peter Nagle and George Notz as witnesses. The Reading Weekly Advertiser, October ?, 1804, carried the announcement: 'Married on the 14th October 1804 by the Rev. Mr. Muhlenberg, Mr. John Schwartz of Lancaster County to the amiable Miss Catharine Nagle, daughter of Peter Nagle, Esq. of this borough.' John and Catharine (Nagle) Schwartz had two children before John's death, which probably occurred early in 1807. On October 25, 1807, Catharine Schwartz of Reading married Jacob Kimmel of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The marriage is recorded in the private records of Rev. Philip R. Pauli. Not much is known about either of Catherine's husbands. Family tradition says that Jacob Kimmel's father and grandfather were part of the Ephrata Cloister Community but that has not been verified. What is known is that Jacob and Catherine (Nagle) Kimmel lived in northwestern Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, and raised a family of five girls and one boy."
