[29548] The Gray Family Tree (not verified) in Ancestry.com in 2011 states William was b. in 1658 and m. 7 Sept 1686 Deliverance Taylor. His dates are from the unverified Landers Family Tree in Ancestry.comin 2013 - more research is needed.
[24142] Information on this line is from Assunta Caso's site on Ancestry World Tree in 2004, and is not verified. This site states that he died in Oxfordshire and was buried the same day in Somersetshire - not likely? It also reports that he was church warden in 1627 according to the Parish Register of Carlton Musgrove in Somersetshire, and gives his eight children, of whom William is eldest. It also reports that William is son of William Haskell, b. 1544 in Wincanton, Somersetshire, d. 1595 in Gillingham, England, m. in Charlton Musgrave in 1567 to Ann Hannah (b. 1543 in Charlton Mushrave, d. in Gillingham), and that they also had Mark Haskell (b. ca. 1568 in Wincanton). Cf. David A. Haskell's site in Ancestry.com which reports William was a blacksmith and church warden (chief lay officer of the parish) and was from a branch of the Haskell family which lived in the northeastern part of Dorsetshire - in Motcombe, a subparish of Gilligham, See also "Origins of the Haskell Family: Earliest Parish Recorded Dates of Haskell Family Residence in Towns and Counties of Geat Britain," compiled by N. H. Haskell and W. A. Haskell in the "Haskell Journal: Newsletter of the Haskell Family Association" (vol. 3 [1986], #3). The unverified Stanley Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2016 offers: "William Haskell was born in 1584 in Wincanton, Somerset, the child of Surrey Osbern and Sarah. He married Elinor Foule on June 27, 1600. They had three children during their marriage. He died about May 1630, at the age of 46. . . . Elinor Foule was born in 1587 in Wincanton, Somerset.. . . . She died in 1650 in Beverly, Massachusetts, at the age of 63." See also http://www.haskells.net and NEHGR, Vol. 86, July 1932, p. 257, and Vol. 138, p. 223-227. An extensive unverified ancestry and genealogy is also available in 2018 at http://hfa.haskells.net/haskellfamilyna/pafg05.htm. Ancestry.com offers: "Haskell Name Meaning - English: from the Norman personal name Aschetil, from Old Norse Ásketill, Áskell, a compound áss god + ketill kettle, helmet."
