[903] She is identified as Bridget Harris by Patty Rose in her genealogy on the Web at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pattyrose/engel where her children and parents are also given. She cites Joseph B. Felt. "History of Ipswich, Essex, and Hamilton." Ipswich:1966 (first published in Cambridge:1834) as source for the death date of Bridget, 16 Nov 1655 in Ipswich. She gives the marriage date and place for Bridget and Humphrey and states that she is daughter of John Harris and Bridget _____. I have not verified her information. Ancestry.com offers: "Harris Name Meaning - English and Welsh (very common in southern England and South Wales): patronymic from the medieval English personal name Harry, pet form of Henry. This name is also well established in Ireland, taken there principally during the Plantation of Ulster. In some cases, particularly in families coming from County Mayo, both Harris and Harrison can be Anglicized forms of Gaelic Ó hEarchadha."
