[1485] http://home.wxs.nl/~voort359/home3vlaan.html remarks: "Arnulf was about four years old when he became heir to the County, and he was of course unable to organise resistance to King Lotharius IV of West-Francia who occupied the whole of Flanders to reestablish his authority over these lands, which was probably not quite what the late Arnulf "The Great"'s had intented in his will, see above. The Count's authority was seriously diminished, and many local lords in Flanders became semi-independant. Ghent fell into the hands of Count Dirk II of Holland. After Arnulf's death, his widow Rozala married Robert II "The Pious", King of France in 988, but was rejected by him in 995."
[41419] This person is from an unverified file in Ancestry.com in 2016. Ancestry.com offers: "James Name Meaning - English: from a personal name that has the same origin as Jacob. However, among English speakers, it is now felt to be a separate name in its own right. This is largely because in the Authorized Version of the Bible (1611) the form James is used in the New Testament as the name of two of Christ's apostles (James the brother of John and James the brother of Andrew), whereas in the Old Testament the brother of Esau is called Jacob. The form James comes from Latin Jacobus via Late Latin Jac(o)mus, which also gave rise to Jaime, the regular form of the name in Spanish (as opposed to the learned Jacobo). See also Jack and Jackman. This is a common surname throughout the British Isles, particularly in South Wales."

[5730] Baron Zouche of Ashby, Governor of Rockingham Castle [per Carr P. Collins, "Royal Ancestors of Magna Charta Barons" (Dallas, 1959), p. 256]. Alan fought in Gascony and Scotland during the reign of Edward I, and in 1311 became Governor of Rockingham Castle in Northamptonshire and was Stewart of the Rockingham Forest. The Cahill Family web site at Ancestry World Tree in 2004 lists another daughter, Elizabeth la Zouche, b. ca. 1298, d. after 1332, wife of Oliver de Ingham (b. 1287 and of Ellesmere, Shropshire, son of John de Ingham and Margery), and states that Elizabeth and Oliver had Joan de Ingham (b. 1330 in Shropshire, wife of Roger le Strange [son of John le Strange and Isolda de Ellesmere]).
