Jewel was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Seventh Street Baptist Church. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Seventh Street Baptist Church with burial in Garden of Memories. Arrangements are by Rains-Seale Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny in 1968; her parents, two sisters, five brothers and one great granddaughter. She is survived by one son, Curtis Jones of Ballinger; three daughters, Evelyn Drake and Johnnie Bramley, both of Ballinger and Edna Hunter of Mohave Valley, AZ; and a sister, Lenora Frush; three sisters-in-laws, Louise Jones of Ft. Mercy _____ (b. 4 Aug 1654 in Plympton, MA, d. 3 July 1714 in Plympton). NEHGR, 1959, p. 291"Dea. Samuel Sturtevant, who had been Plymouth's representative to the General Court [legislature] om 1715, had married, as his second wife, Elizabeth, the second wife and widow of Humphrey Horrell, Jr., and in 1720 his youngest son, Moses Sturtevant, had married Elizabeth Horrell, Jr., a daughter of Humphrey and Elizabeth Horrell. The good deacon died at the age of 82 in 1736 . . ." Elizabeth, second wife of Samuel, was the youngest daughter of John Smith and Elizabeth Goodale of Salem, MA, baptised 8 Aug 1672 - see "History of Salem, MA, Vol. 3," Sidney Perley, pp. 41-42.
