'Bill' Helbert, 86, of Y& Mansfield, went home to his Lord and Savior, November 26, 2009 at the Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield. Born in Hayesville, Ohio on the Galloway Farm, April 17, 1923, he was the son of C. Melvin and Laura May (Roseborough) Helbert. Raymond graduated from Hayesville High School in 1940 and enlisted with the U.S. Army11th Airborne in 1943. He served with the 511 Parachute Division in the Pacific Theater and was with one of the first units to occupy Japan following their surrender. Raymond was very proud of his service to our nation and was featured as a News Journal World War II veteran on December 29, 2003. After an honorable discharge, Raymond attended the Chicago Industrial Institute and became an electrician. He enjoyed hard work and worked in construction for fifty years. Raymond also worked in the maintenance department at PPG in Crestline, retiring in 1985. He used his construction and electrical skills to build the weight and training rooms at Mansfield's Arlin Field, which is named 'The Helbert Athletic Complex' in his honor. He also built the baseball dugouts and concession stands for the Tyger's baseball team. He was an avid follower of high school sports and umpired baseball and softball for many years. Raymond received the Ohio High School Athletic Association State Award."

She graduated from Eastern Academy of Beauty Culture of Bangor. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts. She is survived by two sons, Arthur Harrington Jr. and wife, Lena, and three children, David, Kathleen, and Stephen of Virginia Beach, Va.; Mark Ginn and wife, Kathy and three daughters, Christine, Michelle, and Melissa of Eastbrook; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, one special nephew, Danny Mitchell and wife, Charlotte, of Gouldsboro. She was predeceased by her husband, Horace; four brothers, Lawrence, Carlton, Oswald and Donald; three sisters, Verna, Gladys and Myrtle."
