[31054] The 2 June 1880 federal census in Scott Twp., Steuben Co., IN lists Marvin (age 46) and wife Flora (45) with children Lewis (21), Ella (19), Emma (19), Elmer (16), Sarah (11), Matilda (9), Bertie (7) and Charles (3). Close neighbors of this family in the 1880 census is the family of Abraham Reppert, whose son will marry Ella Green. Flora A. Green (age 84) is living with her daughter and husband Augustine Reppert in the 1920 federal census in the same township. The unverified Brady Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2016 offers: "Marvin Green was born on September 26, 1833, in Medina County, Ohio, the child of Jonathan and Louisa. He was married on January 17, 1858, in Steuben, Indiana. He died on May 13, 1913, in Angola, Indiana, having lived a long life of 79 years." "Steuben Republican [Angola, Indiana], 21 May 1913," p. 1: "Marvin Green qas born in Medina County, Ohio, September 26, 1833, and died in Fremont, Ind., May 13, 1913, aged 79 years, T months and 17 days. He came with his parents to Steuben county at the age of four years, and settled on the farm now known as the Henry Jordan farm, where he grew to manhood. He was the second of a family of nine children, all of whom, with the exception of two, have preceded him in death. A brother, Henry, living in Kansas, and a brother, Amos, living In Minnesota, survive. Deceased was married to Flora A. Jones January 17, 1858. They lived in various places until the spring of 1864, when they moved to the farm home in Scott township, where they resided forty-eight years, and the past year was spent in the home in Fremont. To this union were born eight children Lewis, Ella, Emma, Sarah, Tillie, Berton, and Charles who with the twenty grand children and three great grandchildren, survive, his being the first death in the family. He was a devoted husband, laboring often under difficulties that his family might have the necessary comforts of life and acquire an education, often obtained with difficulty in his days. In all his dealings he was strictly honest and upright, his word being as good as a bond. He had the love and respect of all who knew him and he will be greatly missed by his friends and the community at large."
