B6: "Kings Mountain, N.C. - Violet Mattern Blackwelder, 88, a resident of Summitt Place, Kings Mountain, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Charlotte Health Care, Charlotte, N.C. She was born in Shamokin, Pa., a daughter of the late Willard and Lula (Beaver) Mattern. Violet resided in Greenville, N.C. and was a retired administrative assistant from East Carolina University. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a secretary of local Greenville Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxillary, a former member of Sweet Adelines, and was a volunteer for the Battered Women's Shelter, Greenville. She supported many charities including ASPCA and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Violet had an avid love for music and art. She is survived by two sons, Gary Blackwelder and wife, Sharon, of Pooler, Ga., and Roger Blackwelder and partner, Lorraine Timlin, of Kingston, N.Y.; two daughters, Janis Tyson, and husband, Ray, of Charlotte, and Linda Bowen and husband, Terry, Plymouth, N.C.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held on May 28 in Kings Mountain. Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington."

Mr. Reiter retired from Mansfield Tire & Rubber Co. He was a member of Ridgeway First Church of God, Sons of Herman, Olentangy Beagle Club and Mansfield Tire 25 Year Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Naomi May Helbert Reiter; a son & daughter-in-law, Frederick & Joyce Reiter of Mansfield, OH; a daughter & son-in-law, Elizabeth & Clyde Hunter of Nipomo, CA; four grandchildren and spouses, Frederick & Katie Reiter of Tipp City, OH, F. Scott & Gail Hunter of Gilroy, CA, Victor & Dawn Hunter of San Jose, CA, and Deborah & Paul Lillak of Tracy, CA; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Katherine Doty of CA. Mr. Reiter was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Edward, Jacob, Fred, Philip and Daniel; four sisters, Helen McGinity, Julia Keller, Rose Trumpower and Mary Lamberton. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Aug. 9 from 6-9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home, Aug. 10, at 1 p.m., conducted by Pastor Eddie R. Bare. Burial will be at Oak Grove Memorial Park."

Samuel was the son of Thomas Thomason and Genia Reeves. His siblings were George Thomason (1703-1783), and Thomas Thomason, Jr. (d. ca 1773). Samuel moved to Fredericksville Parish, Louisa County, Virginia, as his brother George had.
Samuel owned 400 acres of land between Christopher's Run and Duckinghole Creek in Louisa County. His will is on file in Louisa County. His first wife was Hannah Glass. There were 12 possible children. Samuel is thought to have been buried near Providence, Virginia, however his grave has not been located."
