[1987] Frederick II died without male heir - Upper Lorraine (Lotharingia) was then restored to Gothelo. Frederick II's grandfather Frederick (d. 978) had received Upper Lorraine (roughly the ecclesiastical province of Trier) in 959; he was a member of the house of Ardenne and a relative of the Carolingians (although he deserted their cause), as he was a nephew of Otto and a brother-in-law of Hugh Capet.

Eugene Ernest Miller apparently is NOT the husband of Grace Marie Shade: "The York Dispatch [York, Pennsylvania], 25 August 2000," p. 38: "Eugene E. Miller of Red Lion died at 12:40 pm Aug 23 at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was 74. Mr Miller retired in 1987 from Yorktowne Kitchens, Red Lion, where he was a sander for 30 years. He served in the Army in Korea and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of Carpenters and Joiners Local No 1806, Red Lion. Born in Dallastown Oct. 10, 1925, he was a son of the late Ward E. and Minnie M. Floyd Miller. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Anna L. Hahn Miller; a daughter, Karen S. Urey of Brogue; and three grandchildren. A son Michael S. Miller is deceased."
