[44986] 'The Bangor Daily News" published his obituary 25 February 2019: "Manley E. Bragdon, Jr., 81, passed away on Feb. 22, 2019, in Portland, after a brief illness. He was born on Jan. 13, 1938, in Franklin, son of Manley Sr. and Elizabeth (Fickett) Bragdon. He grew up in Franklin and Blue Hill, graduating in 1957 from George Stevens Academy. Manley married Geraldine Leach, April 1960 and they resided in Blue Hill. They loved to travel and enjoyed 50 years of marriage, until Gerry's passing in Dec. 2010. Manley worked at the mill in Bucksport and then was employed at Cianbro Corporation for over 38 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and 4 wheeling and was a member of the Acadia Area ATV'ers Club. Mornings he could be found heading to Franklin for breakfast with lifelong friends, then returning home to check on the action on South Blue Hill wharf, and the various wood cutting crews. Manley is survived by his daughter, Tina Gray and husband Jeff, Sedgwick; daughter in-law Joy Bragdon, Blue Hill; he was a proud 'Gup' to Matthew Gray and wife Hannah, Sedgwick; Garret Bragdon and wife Amanda, Rhode Island; Autumn Robbins and husband Jeremy, Blue Hill ; great grandchildren, Ava and Piper Gray, Sedgwick; Oliver Peasley, Brooksville; sister, Mary Allen and husband Ronald, Blue Hill; brother and sister in-law, Fernald and Drucy Leach, Blue Hill; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, son Dana, sisters Anne Black and Jackie Scott. . . . "

Griffin, retired executive vice-president of K-D Manufacturing Co., died unexpectedly Saturday night at Lancaster General Hospital. He was 74. Girvin, of 3093 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, had been under the care of a physician. He was the husband of Margaretta Lichty Girvin. He retired in January 1974 as executive vice president and general manager of K-D Manufacturing Co., where he had been employed since 1929. He had also served on the K-D board of directors. Girvin was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Paradise. Born in Salisbury Township, he was a son of the late Jesse and Annie Graham Girvin. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sandra L., wife of Thomas W. McCormick, East Petersburg, and Barbara J., wife of Gary W. Hopkins, Newark, Del.; one son, Larry M. Girvin, Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren; and four sisters: Mabel Hutchinson, Paradise; Esther Bowers, Ronks; Martha Eppihimer, Bryn Mawr; and Violet Parmer, Paradise."
