His dates are from his death certificate, which indicates that he died in Ashland and is buried at Mohicanville, Ohio. "The Greenville Journal [Greenville, OH], 28 January 1915," p. 2: "B. F. Paullin, Ashland county treasurer, whose mother was Hannah Hayes, a cousin of President Rutherford B. Hayes, is dead in this city at the age of 67 years. Paullin was one of the county's most respected citizens."
