[50988] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 25 July 1995, p. 17: "Hermon - Owen LeRoy Goss, 81, of Hermon, died unexpectedly July 24, 1995, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Kenduskeag, Aug. 26, 1913, the son of LeRoy C. and Addie H. (Phillips) Goss. He was employed by the Eastern State Farmers Exchange (now Agway) for several years. Owen was a well known dairy farmer in Hermon for many years and an agent for the Patrons Oxford Insurance Co. of Auburn, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Kenduskeag Lodge No. 137 A.F. A.M. of Kenduskeag; an honorary member of Lynde Lodge No. 174 A.F. A.M. of Hermon, the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32nd Degree, Anah Temple Shrine and the Jonathan Hunt Chapter O.E.S. of Hermon. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Eloise M. (Higgins) Goss of Hermon, are three sons, Thomas O. Goss of Carmel, Gary L. Goss of York, Leland B. Goss of Charlotte, N.C.; a special uncle, Rodney T. Higgins of Evansville, six grandchildren, Tammi, Kelly, Christy, Benjamin, Rachael and Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany; two brothers, Leon E. Goss of Levant, Ralph Goss of one sister, Ruth Jenness of Bangor; several special nieces and nephews."

D. Ritter, 318 Second St., SJatington, of infirmities due to his advanced age. He was ninety-two years and twenty-one days of age. He is survived by the following children: C. A. Ritter, Auburn. Pa.; Dr. F. O. Ritter, Allentown; W. D. Ritter, with whom he resided in Slatington; A. J. Ritter, Allentown, and Milton Ritter, Palmerton. His wife preceded him In death quite a number of years ago. The funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 9.15 o'clock, at his late residence, the home of his son, W. D. Ritter, Slatington, with continued services in the Unionville church, with Rev. J. S. Longacre officiating. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church."
