[8689] "The Perry County Times, 23 September 1926," p. 5: "William Ritter, son of David Susan McClade Reapsome Ritter, suddenly at his home near Loysville Saturday about, 10 a. in., aged 33 years, 5 months and 23 days. Mr. Ritter had suffered a sun stroke several years ago, but had apparently recovered when his health begun to fail about a year ago, gradually sapping his strength. His sudden death is a terrible shock to his family and friends. He was a hard working, industrious young man, who was a farmer, living on the old Ritter homestead, his father's farm, and where he was born and raised. The success of the farm was largely to his credit, even before his parents' removal to a nearby home some years ago. A faithful son to his parents, his mother's standby, energetic and capable since boy hood, assuming the most of the labor of hauling lumber, etc., for the house and barn his parents built in recent years, He has also always been a kind, faithful, loving husband, father and brother, respected and honored by many. He was a member of the Loysville Lutheran Church, serving as deacon at one time, Mr. Ritter was married to Miss Edith Barnes, of Donnally Mills, in January, 1918 by the Rev. A. R. Longanecker, then pastor of the Loysville Lutheran charge. His wife, with four daughters, born to them, survive, namely: Janet, 7, Lenore and Larue, twins, 5 and Sara Louise, 1 year old. Also surviving are his parents and the following sisters and brother: Annie, of Harrisburg; Margaret, Mrs. Charles Smith, of Blain ; Sara, Mrs. .lames Bowers, of Mifflin, and Paul, at home."
