During the numerous love affairs of her husband Therese suffered but indulged the king. She strictly rejected associating with the mistresses. Therese often backed up Ludwig's office especially when he was absent from Munich during his numerous journeys."

[28755] "Shamokin News-Dispatch, 8 June 1925," p. 5: "Peter G. Starr, one of the most widely known and respected residents of Mahantonga Valley, Schuylkill county, succumbed to a protracted illness yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at his home in Rough and Ready, in his 82nd year. The venerable patient, who had enjoyed three score and twenty years of good health, was attacked with illness 13 weeks ago. After attending the Geisinger hospital a month ago for observation and treatment, operation was deemed inadvisable, and he was brought to his home where he passed away yesterday with members of the family surrounding his bedside. Peter G. Starr was born in the Mahantonga Valley 82 years ago and eventually became its most prominent resident. Too young to serve in the federal army at the first call of Abraham Lincoln for six months enlistments, Peter Starr made his way to the front as a substitute and after the six months had elapsed, enlisted for the duration of the war. The deceased was also prominent in church and fraternal work. A devout member of the Reformed church at Rough and Ready, he has held every position of trust and honor that the church had to bestow. The deceased always esteemed his privilege of membership in the Grand Army of the Republic but he was particularly attentive to the fraternal interests of Odd Fellowship. At 80 years of age, he journeyed alone to the state convention of Odd Fellows held at Pittsburg, being the only delegate from his district. A man greatly beloved by his friends and associates of many years, the passing of Peter G. Starr has caused the shadow of grief to fall over the entire countryside where he resided for more than three quarters of a century. His beloved wife preceeded him in death a year and one-half ago. The following sons and daughters survive: Oscar A., at home, Samuel W., Valley View; Gabriel E., of Newton, Kansas; Irvin K., and John A., Shamokin; Mrs. VV. E. Hepler of Hepler; Mrs. L. E. Bair, wife of the former pastor of the Salem Reformed church, now of Greensburg; and Mrs. Mazie Steely, at home." [http://www.wolfgangs.org states Peter is son of Peter Starr and Marie Geist (not verified).]
