She was predeceased by her stepfather, Albert Carter, whom she treated as her own father; a sister Hilda Lynk; a brother Roland Taylor; two half brothers, Freeman and Lawrence Carter." Bernice is daughter of Howard Owen Taylor (1882-1961) & Olive J. Black (1889-1975; m. 1 February 1910 in Sedgwick, Hancock Co., ME).
