Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, Fred W. Goss, in 1969; and brothers, Vernon Wardwell, Roland Wardwell and Forrest Wardwell."

A noted society beauty, she was married to Josceline Percy, 11th and last Earl of Northumberland, on 23 December 1662. The marriage was cut short by the untimely death of Josceline from a fever in Turin, leaving Elizabeth free to marry Ralph Montagu, diplomat and later 1st Duke of Montagu, in 1673. Elizabeth died at Boughton House, Northamptonshire, on 19 September 1690, and was buried with her first husband at St Mary's Church, Petworth, West Sussex, in 1698."
