He was born in Jackson Township June 12, 1890, and was a lifelong Shelby resident. He was employed by the state Highway Department for 26 years and the Shelby Water Department and Oakland Cemetery. After retirement he operated a saw-filing shop. He is survived by his wife, Juanita, with whom he recently celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary; one son, David of Shelby; one grandson; one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Barkdull Funeral Home by the Rev. Chester R. Jose. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery."
