[14687] "Springfield Reporter [Springfied, VT], 3 May 1912," p. 8: "Mrs. Julia (Whitcomb) Bisbee, widow of Albert W. Bisbee, died at her home in Melrose, Mass., on Thursday, April 25, after an illness of only one week's duration, aged 79 vears, 10 months and 11 days. The remains were brought here on Saturday, accompanied by her son, Squire L. Whitcomb, of that city, and the funeral service was held at the Methodist church at 2 P. M. on Sunday, the burial taking place in the Summer Hill cemetery, Rev. E. W. Sharpe, the new Methodist pastor, officiated in a manner most acceptable to the relatives. Mrs. Bisbee was born in Springfield. a daughter of the late Seymour Lockwood. She was educated in the public schools of the Town, and married George C. Whitcomb, a farmer of West Springfield, who died upward of 22 years ago. Twelve years ago, in March, she married Mr. Bisbee, who died about two years ago. In early life Mrs. Bisbee joined the Methodist church and had been a faithful member. She is survived by three sons - George S. Whitcomb, of Springfield, Squire L. Whitcomb, of Melrose, Mass., and Everett H. Whitcomb, of Springfield, and by one sister, Mrs. Mary M. Roby, of Springfield. There are, also, six surviving grandchildren." The LDS Church's IGI file shows her parents as Seymour Lockwood and Lucy Albee (Source Call # 0027616, Batch # 7450162). Ancestry.com offers: "Lockwood Name Meaning - English: habitational name from a place in West Yorkshire, probably named in Old English as 'enclosed wood', from loc(a) 'enclosure' (see Lock) + wudu 'wood'. It seems likely that all present-day bearers of the name descend from a single family which originated in this place. There is another place of the same name in Cleveland, first recorded in 1273 as Locwyt, from Old English loc(a) + Old Norse viðr 'wood', 'brake', but it is not clear whether it has given rise to a surname."

[44294] Wisehaupt Farm Burial Grounds, Spruce Hill Twp., Juniata Co., PA offers Elizabeth's obituary: "Mrs. Eliza Jane Wisehaupt, wife of Mr. William Lepley Wisehaupt was born Dec. 9, 1829, and departed this life Feb. 24, 1893, at her home in Turbett Township, at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 15 days.She was united in marriage with Wm. Lepley Wisehaupt, on the 3rd day of Nov. 1868, Rev. Cambridge Graham, of Port Royal Methodist Episcopal church was the officiating minister. She was the mother of six children, viz. Lewis Maffet, of Turbett township, married to Saddie Donahey; Wm. L. Wisehaupt, married to Mary B. Leahy; Sarah E., Mary Juniata, Charles Iyer, who preceded her to the heavenly world, and Edgar Brady. The remainder ones are still living at home. She was buried in the private family burying ground on their farm, on Monday the 27th of March, her pastor, Rev. A. H. Spangler, conducting the service. He based his remarks on the scriptures found in St. John's gospel, 14th chapter and 3rd verse. The following pallbearers bore her body tenderly to the grave, namely, D. H. Bousum, Jas. P. Johnson, Wm. Haines, Samuel Guss, G. Frank Goodman and L. O. Boyer, were they laid it to await the call of hr God at the dawn of the resurrection meeting. Mrs. Wisehaupt will be missed in the home, church and community. She was devoted to the interests and welfare of her home. The husband and children ever found in her an affectionate wife and loving mother. She was loyal to the church of her choice, from none did the pastor receive more sympathy and aid than from her. She was ever punctual in her attendance upon the service of God's house. Her social qualities were of a high order. Her great sympathetic heart and beneficent nature made all who came in contact wit her feel that they were in the presence of one who loved her fellow men." - and states her parents are James M. Maffett (b. 1805) & Margaret Kokil.
