Mr. Haskell is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara (McKenney) Haskell; two sons, Dr. G. Merrill of Northeast Harbor and John M., member of the faculty of Bridgton academy; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Trafton of Swampscott, Mass.; and two grandsons, Sterling E. Haskell and Thomas Trafton."

He followed his brother Justus to Northern New York. He was a physician and surgeon and lived in different towns, where he practiced his profession. In the early days when the country was new, he made his rounds on horseback with medicines and surgical instruments in saddlebags. He knew great hardship but had great endurance. His first wife died after the birth of their third son, when he was married to Elizabeth Neff. Dr Winslow Whitcomb, like his brother Justus, was a Freewill Baptist and their descendants for five generations have lived and died in the same faith. He died age 92. There is a picture of him in the Whitcomb Family book."
