The 1930 federal census lists Freace and his family in Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., IA. "The Courier [Waterloo, IA]. 14 December 1978," p. 5: "Services for Freace C. Heichel Sr., 90, of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Hudson Cemetery. He died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday at Sartori Memorial Hospital. He was born May 31, 1888. in Mansfield. Ohio, son of John Luther and Mary Easterday Heichel. He married Dagmar Rasmussen Sept. 4, 1907, in rural Cedar Falls and she died Oct. 19, 1945. He married Gladys Nelson Nov. 19, 1947 in Nashua and she died Oct. 24, 1966. Survivors include three sons, Hershel of The Dalles, Ore., Freace Jr. of 1717 Patton Ave., Waterloo, and Glade of rural Greene; four daughters, Mrs. Glenn Brown of 4718 Butterfield Road, Mrs. Claude Morgan of 1720 Locke Ave., Waterloo. Mrs. Wilson Clark of Exeland. Wis., and Mrs. Jane Rogers of 716 Fourth Ave.; 23 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Gladys Jones of Chardon, Ohio."
