In his youth he had an affair with Lady Alice Fitz Alan (b. ca. 1373-75, dau. of Sir Richard Fitz Alan); she m. by March 1392 Sir John Charlton, 4th Baron Charlton of Powis, who d.s.p. 19 Oct 1401. Henry's dau. by Alice, Joan (or Jane) and her husband Sir Edward Stradling, are mentioned in Henry's will dated 20 Jan 1447. Joan (or Jane) was b. prob. winter 1391-92. Sir Edward Stradling, Kgt. of St. Donat's Castle, Glamorgan, b. ca. 1389, was age 22+ 23 Nov 1411, son of Sir William of same by Isbel St. Barbe; Sir Edward went on pilgrimage to Jerusalem ca. 1407-08; he d. 1453. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 31 July 2024: "Verona Island - Raymond Wayne Wardwell, 93, of Verona Island and Orland, passed away peacefully at his home on July 27, 2024. He was born on March 30, 1931, in Orland, the son of Hosea Robert and Una (Hutchins) Wardwell. He graduated from Bucksport High School class of 1949. He was drafted during the Korean War with the U.S Army. He began his career as a self-employed contractor leading to the Wardwell Ready Mix concrete business and other business endeavors. He was past Worthy Patron Riverside Chapter #123 of the Eastern Star. He was past Master of the Rising Sun Lodge #71 A.F & A.M of Orland. He was a member of Waldo RAC #7 of Belfast. Bangor Council #5. The Anah Temple Shriners of Bangor. 32-degree member of The Valley of the Scottish Rights and Hancock County Shrine Club. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Vivian 'Skip' Wardwell; his two daughters, Deborah and husband, Bruce Boretsky, and Dianna and husband, John Pecic; stepdaughters, Susan Powers, and Joyce Trefethen; stepson, Michael Terrill; two grandsons, Andy and Adam Boretsky; granddaughter, Heather Moutoux; three great-granddaughters, Savannah, Katherine, and Natalie; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Aaden; his sisters, Gail Wight and husband, Phil, and Elizabeth Wight; sister-in-law, Judy Wardwell; many nieces and nephews; and one special nephew, Bobby and wife, Robin Wardwell, who both have been there for Raymond no matter what he needed or wanted. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Phyllis Wardwell; sister, Guida Martin; and brothers, Robert, Richard, and Duane."
