He was born in Orrington Jan. 11, 1919, the son of Bion A. and Katherine (Kingsbury) Foster. Harry had made his home in Hampden since the age of eight and worked as a mechanic at Rawdiffe's Garage for nearly 30 years. In his younger years Harry was a well-liked trolley-car driver and then bus driver for Bangor Hydro. He was a true yankee trader and enjoyed buying and selling anything. He loved having a continuous yard sale (he was the original recycler) and his kind heart and generosity were always evident as a needy person never left his yard sale empty-handed. Harry's friends always knew they could borrow a few dollars from him to get them by. He enjoyed the hard work of cutting and splitting wood and loved traveling to Las Vegas to gamble. Harry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Robert Leighton of Hampden, a sister and brother-in-law Bessie and Edward Moore of Orrington, five grandchildren, Kim Farley Robert Leighton, Jr., Barbie Beal, Lisa Alley and Brent Leighton; six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, three stepchildren, several stepgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helena Margaret (McCann) Foster, in 1960 a brother, George Foster, in 1993, and a brother, Stephen, who died as a child, and a sister, Rosa E. Foster, in 1945."

(1) Mary White and (2) 2 Aug 1680 Elizabeth Paine. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~kenzie/GenGardner.htm reports in 2003: The first reference to him in the Town Records is found under date of "the 25th of the second moneth 1649," at which time "Its ordered that" he, with his borhters George, Thomas and Joseph, shall "survey the measure from the meeting howse to a pcell of medow upon the great rever Westerly from Salem and give an account thereof at our next meeting, for wch they shall haue allowance in pte of the medow for theire paynes if any shalbe found within our bounds where they runne the lyne." He served the town and colony so frequently, and in so many different capacities. His first service to the town was surveyor. He was overseer and appraiser of estates. He served on the Jury and Grand Jury. He served the county as Coroner. There are reports from him for amounts collected as constable. His name appears first as a selectman of Salem, in the report of a meeting. He was first appointed Deputy. Retired from the Perry Health Center, Loysville, she had also worked at Carlisle Hospital, the state Civil Service Commission and Blain Garment Factory. She attended the former Carlisle Commercial College. She was a member of New Germantown United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for more than 70 years and played the piano and organ for over 60 years; Blain Ambulance Club; Ladies Auxiliary of Blain Fire Co.; and Blain Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and church work. Mrs. Seager is survived by a son, Donald E. of Loysville; two daughters, Barbara J. Bower and Linda L.
