See "The Visitation of Essex, 1634", Publications of the Harleian Society, Vol. 13, Part 1, 1878, pp. 354-55. The Visitation lists eight children of William and Margaret: William, Robert, John, Richard, James, Dorathey, Elizabeth and Margery.} William Bourne is "of Bobbingworth," co. Essex.
"The Bourne Genealogy," Helen Bourne Joy Lee (Chester, CT: Pequot Press, 1972) wrongly asserts "Master" William Bourne was appointed Canon of St. Paul's Church, London, 13-Aug-1553, and was also Bishop of Bath. Diocesan records of Bath do not list a William Bourne as Bishop in the sixteenth century, but list a Gilbert Bourne (son of Philip Bourne of Worcestershire) as Bishop from 1554 to 1560 (see British Dictionary of National Biography) - he is said to be the last Roman Catholic Bishop of Bath and prior to this was indeed a prebendary of St. Paul's in London. In 2003 the unverified Web site at http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/SusanThompson/HOWLAND/d0/i0005809.htm#i5809 gives his birth as 1527 at Bobbingworth, Essex, and his death as 29 April 1591.
The official record of Bishop Gilbert Bourne: "Congé d'élire 13 March 1554 (C.P.R. 1553-4 p. 6; Cal. Wells 11 277). Royal assent to el. 28 March (C.P.R. 1553-4 p. 7). Cons. 1 Apr. by bps. of London, Winchester and Durham (Canterbury cath. libr., Reg. N f. 38). Temps. 20 Apr. (C.P.R. 1553-4 p. 8). Papal conf. 6 July (Hierarchia Catholica, ed. C. Eubel and others (Münster, 1913-68) 111 130). Depriv. 18 Oct. 1559/11 Jan. 1560 (Foedera, ed. T. Rymer (The Hague, 1735-45) vi iv 86; Cal. Wells 11 281-2)." - From: British History Online; Source: Bishops. Fasti Ecclesiae Anglicanae 1541-1857: volume 5, Joyce M. Horn & Derrick Sherwin Bailey (1979). Clergy records of the Church of England report Bishop Bourne served a Prebendary of St. Paul's Cathedral for Brownswood (7 Nov 1548-26 April1561) and briefly in 1548 for Weldland, then was Rector at High Ongar (6 March 1550-25 April 1554) and Vicar at Arlingham (25 April 1550+), and finally Bishop of Bath & Wells (from 29 Jan 1560)

[20194] The Perry County Freeman," 11 April 1888, published an article: "Last Wednesday, April 4, 1888, Mrs. Margaretta Rice, of New Bloomgifled, Pa., saw her 90th birthday, in fair measure of health and strength. ...Grandmother had 11 children, 6 of whom are still living. Her son William was the first male child born in New Bloomfield, after its choice as the county-seat. ...Grandmother's father was Nicholas Ickes. Towards the close of the 17th century, a colony of 3000 persons from Eisleben in the Kingdom of Upper Saxony, under the guidance of William Penn, came to Montgomery county, Pennsylvania. There was one Iskes among the number with 7 children, who located 1000 acres of land north of the Schuylkill river. Michael Ickes, the fourth son, remained on his part of the old homestead until his death by drowning in the river. Michael's eldest son, Nicholas, at the early age of 16, went into the Revolutionary war. In 1795 he removed to Cumberland county, which then included what is now Perry county. Perry ws set off from Cumberland in 1820. Nicholas Ickes came into possession of perhaps 350 acres of land in and around Idkesburg - now owned by the inhabitants of the village, and Nicholas Hench, farm below town, and George B. Sheaffer, farm above town, and the Adams mill property. His tract also extende dup towards the Tuscarora mountain now held by various owners. In 1818 Mr. Ickes laid out some town lots, sold them and gave his name to the new village - Ickesburg. He was twice married, becoming the father of 20 children. He died in 1849." Her genealogy is also provided in the "Records of the Annual Hench and Dromgold Reunion...," Lelia Dromgold Emig (Harrisburg, PA: The United Evangelical Press, 1913).
