[5003] John married the king's daughter and received a charter for the whole earldom of Moray, except the lordship and lands of Lachaber and Badenoch, kept for the king's son, Alexander Stewart. On his death he left two sons and a daughter, Mabella, married to Robert, 6th Earl of Sutherland. The LDS Church's unverified Pedigree Resource Fille reports that John was b. in 1336 in Moray, Scotland, and d. there in 1402 - but the LDS Church's unverified IGI file states that John d. before 15 Feb 1391.
