(see his bio). They were true pioneers and patriots who endured untold hardships.
She, with her husband and children, along with eight other families, moved into the fort at the beginning of the French and Indian War, and were protected by their men and a handful of soldiers furnished by Massachusetts, against repeated attacks of the Indians for fourteen years.
