[46811] "The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, PA], 9 September 1936," p. 1: "Charles Edward Bernheisel. aged 72 years, 8 months and 17 days, of Greenpark, died in the Carlisle Hospital, Saturday at 8.45 p. m. He had been in ill health since last November and underwent a major operation for a tumorous growth about the first of the year and several minor operations since. Mr. Bernheisel was a son of William and Fannie Noll Bernheisel and was born in Greenpark, where his entire life was spent excepting a short time on a farm at Loysville. He was married to Miss Grace Willis at her home in Elliottsburg, November 25, 1891, by their pastor, Rev. G. A. House. He was a caretaker on the State road for twenty-five years, until May, 1935; was an accommodating gentleman, who helped farmers and neighbors out in doing their butchering for them. He was a member of the Board of School Directors of Tyrone township at the time of his death and for two preceding terms; a member of the Patriotic Order Sons of America, No. 487, of Elliottsburg, and had also been a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics, Landisburg, and Knights of the Golden Eagle, Loysville, until they disbanded. In politics he was a Republican, was a member of St. John's Reformed church, Elliottsburg, serving as elder at the time of his death and for a number of years a former trustee, superintendent of the Sunday School at different times and also a teacher. He was prominently and widely known, was of a cheerful, kindly disposition and had a large circle of friends. Surviving him are his wife, two sons, Newton C. Bernheisel, of Dover, N. J., who is Department Manager for the Educators' Association of New York City, and William L. Bernheisel, Loysville. A son, Forrest Bernheisel, Greenpark, is deceased. Also surviving are six grandchildren, two brothers and a sister, H. N. Bernheisel, Greenpark; Matilda, Mrs. Frank Benner, Harrisburg, and Jacob C. Bernheisel, of Kane, Pa.; a brother, James Bernheisel, Harrisburg, and a sister, Lottie, Mrs. N. J. Briner, Greenpark, are deceased."

She married Abner Fickett on 2 December 1830, in Durham, Androscoggin, Maine, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 5 daughters. She lived in Durham, Cumberland, Maine, United States in 1850 and Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine, United States in 1860. She died in 1861, at the age of 49."

[16981] Walter A. Snow, "Brooksville, Maine..." (1976), pp.19-20, reports that Joshua was a private at Fort Pownall in 1765-67, was a brickmaker and r. North Brooksville on the west side of the Bagaduce, and from 1794 r. Swans Island, ME for a few years, returning to Brooksville in 1800. His brother William r. Sedgwick, ME by 1768 and in S. Penobscot from 1803 on Johnsons Point where he d. 31 Jan 1820; William m. 16 Feb 1779 at Deer Isle, ME Eunice Howard (1761-1864). Children of both brothers are listed by Snow. Mark E. Honey ("Castine Patriot," 8 July 2004, p. 5) reports that Joshua "was taken prisoner at Majorbigwaduce and was held in irons in Fort George." - and is therefore eligible as a Patriot for DAR and SAR applicants. [17360] William r. Penobscot, Me where he was a lumber dealer and owned a mill. The 1850 federal census in Penobscot, Hancock Co., ME lists him next to his parents and as a trader. "Biographical review : containing life sketches of leading citizens of Somerset, Piscataquis, Hancock, Washington, and Aroostook counties, Maine (1898)", p. 212: "William N. Perkins, a retired business man of Penobscot, Hancock County, was born in Harrington, Me., December I, 1818, son of Thomas and Clarissa (Nash) Perkins. The grandfather, Daniel Perkins, a native of York, Me., before there were any roads in the district, settled in the southern part of Penobscot township. There he spent the rest of his life excepting the period of the Revolutionary War, during which he stayed in his native town. The maiden name of his wife was Abigail Penny. Thomas Perkins, the father, born in York, Me., was educated under the tuition of a minister in Sedgwick, Me. He taught school for a time, during which period he lived in Harrington. Then he engaged in farming and lumbering. After returning to the homestead in 1826, he bought the Winslow place in the village, also purchased a saw and grist mill, which he carried on for many years. He died at the age of eighty. Clarissa, his wife, became the mother of ten children; namely, Daniel M., Eliza Ann, Alexander G., Gil-bert, William N., Augustus S., Abbie, Mary, Priscilla, and Edgar S. Of these, Daniel M., Eliza Ann, Alexander G., Gilbert, Priscilla, and Edgar S. are no longer living. Augustus S. is a retired merchant of Castine and Abbie and Mary reside in Penobscot. William N. Perkins has resided in Penobscot since he was eight years old. After completing his studies in the district schools he assisted his father upon the farm until he was twenty-two. Afterward, in company with his brother, he established the first store in the neighborhood, and the partnership existed for twenty-five years. He then opened a store upon his own account, and also engaged in ship-building and lumbering, furnishing the timber for the construction of several vessels, mostly schooners. At a later period he admitted his son into partnership in the business of the store. He has been out of business now for the past ten years. Mr. Perkins married Phoebe A. Perkins, who is the mother of eight children; namely, Justin, Roscoe, Bertha, Dora, William Rosco, Ernest, Elmer E., and Jay. Justin, Roscoe, and Dora are no longer living. W. R. Perkins married Oressa Van Buskirk, of Cherryfield, Me. ; Elmer E. married Marjorie Perkins, of Ellsworth, and has four children; and Jay is a physician in Providence, R.I. The father has served as Road Surveyor for twenty-five years. He cast his first Presidential vote for W. H. Harrison in 1840, has been a Republican since the formation of the party, and is an earnest advocate of the temperance cause."

[2602] Wsevolod I reigned 1078-93 and Grand Prince of Kievan Rus. http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/RUSSIA,%20Rurik.htm offers in 2007: "Vsevolod Iaroslavich, son of Iaroslav I 'Mudriy/the Wise' Grand Prince of Kiev & his second wife Ingigerd Olafsdottir of Sweden (1030-13 Apr 1093, bur Kiev, Church of St Sophia). The Primary Chronicle records the birth of Vsevolod 'a fourth son' to Vladimir in 1030. Snorre names 'Valdemar, Vissivald and Holte the Bold' as the children of 'King Jarisleif' & his wife. In accordance with the terms of his father's testament, he succeeded in 1054 as Prince of Pereyaslavl, the territory including Rostov, the whole Volga, Oka and Klazma river basin and the region of Bielooziero. He was defeated [1062] by the Kuman [Cumans], in their first attack against Rus. He was forced out of Pereyaslavl and retreated to Kiev. He was appointed to succeed his brother Sviatoslav as Prince of Chernigov 1073. He succeeded his brother in 1076 as Vsevolod I Grand Prince of Kiev, but was deposed in 1077 by his older brother Iziaslav. His nephew Oleg Sviatoslavich claimed Chernigov after the death of his father Sviatoslav, but was expelled by Vsevolod in Apr 1078. Oleg returned with support from the Kuman [Cumans] to take Chernigov by force, defeating Vsevolod on the river Sozh, east of Pereyaslavl, 25 Aug 1078. Prince Vsevolod thereupon sought support from his brother Iziaslav, and they defeated Oleg 3 Oct 1078 at Nezhatin Meadow near Chernigov, where Prince Iziaslav was killed. Vsevolod was restored once more as Grand Prince of Kiev in 1078 after Prince Iziaslav's death. The Primary Chronicle records the death 13 Apr 1093 of Vsevolod son of Yaroslav and his place of burial. m firstly (1046) Maria [Irina] of Byzantium , daughter of Konstantinos IX Monomachos Emperor of Byzantium & his second wife --- Sklerina (-1067). The Primary Chronicle refers to the wife of Vsevolod as 'the Greek princess' but does not name her or give her origin. m secondly --- Kuman princess, daughter of --- Khan of the Kumans (-1111). She adopted the name Anna after her marriage."
