[18742] "Appleton Post [Appleton, Wisconsin], 25 August 1910," p. 1: "Appleton, Wis., Saturday, Aug. 20. Ebenezer Wing, aged 81 years, for the past twenty-five years a highly respected resident of Appleton, died this morning at about 1 o'clock after a several months' decline in health. Death is ascribed to general debility superinduced by old age. Ebenezer Wing was born in Oneida county, New York state, and had lived the greater share of his life in Wisconsin, with the exception of ten years in North Dakota and six years in the state of Washington. Mr. Wing was a veteran of the civil war having been a member of Co. D, sixteenth Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He was also a charter member of the George D. Eggleston post, G. A. R and up to recent years one of its most influential and esteemed workers. Mr. Wing is survived in his immediate family by two sons and a daughter. They are: H. D. Wing, State Line, Miss.; E. W. Wing, Lewiston, Idaho; Mrs. S. H. Blount, Appleton. A brother and two sisters also survive. They are: James Wing, Appleton; Mrs. Sarah Prosser, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Hannah Prosser, Kansas City, Mo."
