[48818] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor,ME], 10 May 2018": "Frankfort - Our loving family patriarch returned to build his Heavenly home on May 8, 2018. Rodney Edward Gray was born on March 28, 1936, to Christina and Kermit Gray of Orland, Maine. He graduated from Bucksport High School in 1954, and from Maine Vocational Technical Institute's Building Construction program in 1957. A member of Epsilon Pi Tau, he received his Masters of Education degree in 1970 from University of Missouri. As a Master Sargent in the Air National Guard Reserves he served 22 years at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor, ME. A true 'Welcome Back' story, he returned to teach his love of building construction at Southern Maine Vocation Technical Institute for the next 36 years, retiring in 2006. His love of family and Christian faith defined his continual service to others, serving years in leadership roles as Branch President, Bishop and Councilor, as lay (unpaid) ministry. Able to combine his building expertise he secured and oversaw numerous church meetinghouses' construction and travelled extensively in New England and Maritime Provinces. He loved having a workshop and almost anything to do with wood. A master craftsman, he shared his expertise and knowledge to all who asked. Numerous homes, additions, and thousands of wooden gifts stand as a testament to his love and generosity. Waiting for an eternal reunion is his wife of 57 years, Christine Conners Gray, and their four children, Matthew Gray, Martha (John) Hebert, Elizabeth (Fred) McKenney, and Rachel Gray Larsen. "Grampy" will be sorely missed by his ten grandchildren, Lauren, Devin, Callum, Myles, Isabel, Benjamin, Lydia, Gabriel, Amber, and Allison, and four great-grandchildren, Xavier, Vivian, Aiden, and Claire."
