[1588] At the death of Geoffrey II Martel, son of Fulk III, the family lands (Anjou and Touraine) went to Geoffrey's nephews, Geoffrey the Bearded and Fulk IV (who captured his brother Geoffrey and took his lands). Bertrade of Montfort is fourth wife of Fulk IV, and he is her first husband. Fulk IV is known as "The Surly." Fulk IV also m. He was born Dec. 26, 1926, in Portland, to William C. and Ruth M. (Weiss) Davis, and had lived in the local area since 1953, coming from Portland. He was a 1950 graduate of William Davis the University of Oregon. Mr. Davis retired from Cowlitz Candy and Tobacco Co. in 1992. He was on the board of directors for the American Wholesale Marketers Association and was a member of the Longview Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Longview, Noon Rotary and Longview Country Club, was on the committee for the Longview Library Foundation, and was on the curriculum committee for the Longview School District. He enjoyed duck hunting, golfing, fishing, tennis and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Anne J. Davis, at home; two daughters, Connie Davis Henley and Laura Davis, both of Seattle; a son, W. Jeff Davis of Toledo; and two grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Stephen Wendfeldt officiating. Private inurnment will be at St. Stephen's Columbarium."
