[55511] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]," 10 January 2024: " Blue Hill - Rose-Ellen 'Memah' Small, 78, died Dec. 30, 2023, at a healthcare facility in Bangor. She was born on Sept. 13, 1945, in Garland, the daughter of Leon A. and Viola M. (Simpson) Hewes. Rose-Ellen received her post-secondary education at Thayer Hospital, in Waterville, where she received her associate degree and became a license practical nurse in 1964. The following year Rose-Ellen met her beloved husband, Philip G. Small. They were married for 57 years before his death on Sept. 11, 2023. She had worked with Philip as a stern-man on the Christie Rose F/V. Rose-Ellen truly enjoyed riding around with Philip in their 1965 Fastback Mustang. Rose-Ellen worked at the James Taylor Osteopathic Hospital in Bangor, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, and Colliers Nursing Home. She also did a lot of private nursing care which included the care of the author, E.B. White, and his wife. She was a member of the Ladies Day Circle at the Blue Hill Congregational Church, and in her early years was an assistant Girl Scout troop leader for both her daughters. Rose-Ellen was known as 'Memah' to everyone. She loved baking her cinnamon buns and yeast rolls for family and friends. Rain or shine, she attended her grandchildren, Ally and Austins, sporting events. She enjoyed flying to Texas and going on adventures with her grandchildren Patrick and Dalton. Rose-Ellen is survived by two daughters; Rebecca Rose and husband Keith, of Massachusetts, and Christie Anne and fiancé Sean Walsh, of Maine; four grandchildren, Allyson Rosemary, Patrick, Austin, and Dalton; three sisters, Leola, Leona, and Joy; brother Leon Manley; sister-in-law Judy; brother-in-law Dennis and wife Cathy, and a special nephew David. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Jo-Lenna, and brother-in-law David."

"The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, Pennsylvania], 27 February 1935" p. 3: "It was with sincere sorrow that the many friends of S. Edwin Peale learned of his death, which occurred at his home in Lancaster City, Sunday morning at 8.30 o'clock. He had not been in good health since last October. Death was due to a stroke of apoplexy, with which he was stricken early last week, rendering him unconscious, in which condition he remained until the end came. He was aged 63 years. S. Edwin Peale was a son of Samuel A. and Elizabeth (Mclntire) Peale, deceased, former residents of this place. He was educated in the Bloomfield Academy and West Chester State Normal School, and after graduation taught school for four years. When a young man he learned the printing trade. He was appointed a Deputy Revenue Collector in 1897 with headquarters in Lancaster, which position he held until fourteen years ago when he was appointed Chief of the Bureau for Collection of Delinquent Taxes, Auditor General's Department, Harrisburg. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Masonic fraternity and was a man of high character and genial disposition, kind-hearted and generous, a devoted husband and father, loved by his family and friends in every sense a true gentleman. He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Lillian Rice, of this place, and two daughters, Elizabeth, (Mrs. Paul B. Ryder) and Lillian, all of Lancaster; also, a sister, Mrs. H. E. Sheibley, of this place. Funeral services were held in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, this forenoon, and burial was in the Bloomfield cemetery, this afternoon, with the rites of Free Masonry."

Wenrich, preceded him to the grave on January 2, of this year. Private interment will be made at Johnstown tomorrow."
