[38909] Find A Grave Memorial 29062966 offers: "Luther R. Farst was one of thirteen known children of Jacob and Rebecca Rummel Farst of near Bunker Hill, Worthington Township, Richland County, Ohio. He was born in Lisbon, Linn County, Iowa, on September 18, 1865. Luther was united in marriage with Miss Emma A. Giffin, daughter of Fletcher E. and Hannah Catherine Wheeler Giffin, on March 3, 1895. Luther and Emma were the parents of six children, including a set of twins. Their children are Nina G. Farst Wagner, an infant son who died in 1895, Neva Mae Farst Ferguson Ammeter, twin son, Delbert Jacob Farst, twin son Gilbert Fletcher Farst and Virgil Luther Farst. On June 17 of 1904, Luther, age 38 and his father Jacob Farst, age 76, were both badly injured in a 'runaway buggy accident' in Monroe Township on their way to Perrysville. Around February of 1920, Luther worked as a 'land appraiser' in Washington Township, Richland County, Ohio, he also worked at general farming. A surprise party was held in honor of Luther's 71st birthday on 19 September, 1936, and he celebrated with his family and friends. In March of 1942, Luther and Emma Farst celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary with a family party at their home on Prospect Street in Mansfield, Ohio. Luther R., age 77, died at his home on Prospect Street, Mansfield, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at Wappner Funeral Home with Rev. C.L. Kern officiating. He loved restoring his 1965 Ford Fastback Mustang and taking it to car shows collecting his blue ribbons and trophies. He proudly attended and cheered his grandson at baseball games; enjoyed reading all the books his granddaughter picked out for him by his trusty wood stove; and best of all kicking the family's butts at cribbage game night and grinning the whole time. He is survived by his adoring wife, Rose-Ellen of 57 years; daughters, Rebecca and husband, Keith, Christie and partner, Sean; grandchildren, Patrick Philip, Allyson, Austin, and Dalton; brother, Dennis and wife, Cathy; sister, Judith; sisters-in-law, Leola, Leona, and Joyce; brother-in-law, Leon Manley; special nephew, David Pingree; and many other nieces and nephews. Born in Castine, Maine on June 12, 1952, the son of William and Ruth (Colby) Wardwell. Dana worked his entire career in the paper industry starting in Bucksport, ME throwing pulp, quickly becoming an accountant, and finishing his 35-year working career as treasurer/risk manger retiring in Asheville, NC; Along the way making career stops in Watertown, NY, St. Cloud MN, and Newtown CT. Hero, Husband, Dad, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Son, Friend, Spiritual Guide, and Mentor; Dana was all of these and so much more to our family, friends and to so many people in all of his walks of life. Dana built a home and a community in each new state that we lived in, active and involved with Church, family, friends, Scouts, youth, and many organizations along the way. Dana had a unique ability to have never met a stranger. He always made an impact no matter how large or small wherever he went. We will be forever grateful for the love, passion, example, patience, and leadership shown and shared from Dana.
Dana was predeceased by both of his parents; and four of his siblings, Joyce Andrews, Ellen McElvain, James, and Timothy Wardwell. Dana is survived by his loving wife of 48 wonderful years, Paulette Marie Wardwell of Bucksport; brother, Frank Wardwell and partner, Elaine, of Bangor; sister-in-law, Patti Rump of Bucksport; brother-in-law, Jerome Andrews of Deer Island; his son, Mark Wardwell and wife, Shannon, of Bucksport; his son, Paul Wardwell; his son, Gregory Wardwell and wife, Shannon, of Germany; his son, Nicholas Wardwell of Asheville, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Chase, Abigail, Wyatt, Bennett, Anderson, Remington, Hendrix; and many nieces, nephews and cousins."
