She was a family-oriented person, always putting them first. She and her husband enjoyed attending stock car racing, bowling and square dancing. Barbara loved sports, watching them on TV or attending her children or grandchildrens sporting events. She also enjoyed crafting, creating cross-stitch pictures for family and crocheting. Barbara is survived by four children, Marie Knapp and her husband, Dwight, of Burlington, Dana Sherwood of Colchester, Conn., Fay LaPlace and her husband, Denis, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Melinda Sherwood of Orland, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one son, Blaine Sherwood, who died on Jan 12, 1979."
