"Born about 1612 (aged 23 in 1635; deposed "aged about forty-six years in September 1658). In May 1661 he was released from training "except twice a year." Blacksmith who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 on the "James." First resided in Lynn MA; moved to Rowlwy by 1641, Ipswich by 1660, Salem by 1670, Ipswich by 1684. Died at Ipswich, 13 Jan 1684/5. Married (1) By about 1636, Elizabeth ____. She died at Ipswich, 31 Dec 1664. (Some secondary sources, including Savage, propose an earlier wife, Alice, but no supporting evidence for this has been found, so we assume here two wives only for Edmund Bridges.) (2) in Ipswich, 6 Apr 1665, Mary (Langton) Littlehale, widow of Richard, born about 1625 (deposed 24 Nov 1685 "aged sixty years;" she died at Ipswich, 24 October 1691. (On 15 March 1664/5, Edmund Bridges of Ipswich acknowlwdged that "I have nothing to do directly nor indirectly anyways to dispose of or having any interest at all of Mary Litelhale['s] accomodation at Haverhill notwithstanding she is to be my wife, but leaveth it wholly to the said Mary to dispose of for her own use and her four children which she hath by Rich[ar]d Litelhale." On William obtaining the crown of England, he conferred upon Adam de Audithley the elder, large and valuable possessions and other favours, as he did to all his followers. Born January 22, 1928 in Perry County, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Loretta M. (Bolden) Palmer. She was the wife of the late Benjamin W. Arnold who died May 7, 1995. Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Duncannon Senior Center, the Red Hat Society, the Duncannon Golden Age and Travel Club, the Duncannon American Legion Auxiliary and a past Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack #64, Duncannon. She attended Christ United Church of Christ, Duncannon. Betty is survived by one son, Benjamin W. Arnold II and his companion Mary Jane; three sisters, Helen Louise Stansfield, Peggy Carl, all of Duncannon, and Doris Kritzer of Dauphin, PA; one brother, James Palmer and his wife Patricia of Halifax, PA; two granddaughters, Nicole M. Calvanelli and her husband Joe of Mechanicsburg, PA and Katelyn R. McCormick and her husband Michael of Enola, PA and two great grandsons, Ayrton J. Calvanelli and Declan N. Calvanelli. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by a brother John Palmer."
