He was killed by Indians at Amesbury in 1677. Blatter will be in charge with operating and maintaining the boilers, swimming pool, heating, electrical and plumbing systems as well as the cleaning of the new $1.6-million Shelby Y Community Center on West Smiley Ave. During World War II, Blatter served with the U.S. Army in France. Born and reared in Jackson Township, he is a lifelong resident of the area. Blatter retired May 1 from the light plant."

Burial was in the Spencer Cemetery. Mrs. Hepler, 81 years old, died of a paralytic stroke yesterday in a city hospital. She had been ill for several months. Born in Indiana, Mrs. Hepler moved to Kansas after her marriage in 1883. The couple made the run in the 1889 Oklahoma Territory opening and homesteaded a farm near Spencer. In 1894 ill health forced Mr. Hepler to retire and move to the city. He died in 1909. Mrs. Hepler continued to live here until about 15 years ago when she moved to Britton to make her home with a daughter, Mrs. May Faughn. Surviving is another daughter, Mrs. Cora Pearl Bryant of Norman and five sons C. H., Mc and W. F., all of the city, G. R. of Britton and Ed Hepler of Long Beach Cal."
