"As to the Christian Snowman you list, he was born about 1690 in England and arrived in Boston, MA on the ship "Peter and Paul" 17 June 1712 . He married Mary Cooper 25 Dec 1712 at Boston. They moved to Arrowsic ME by 1726. He died between 1739 and 1749. Mary Cooper had married Thomas Webber prior to 1749. The only child listed to the couple in Boston is John Snowman born 20 Nov 1713. This is 15 years before My John Snowman was born. There is also a note in the Boston vital records - child of Christian Snowman died 8 Aug 1714. No name is given in the record but it is almost certainly John Snowman and she didn't have time to have another baby-I don't think. My John Snowman may be a son of Christian but there is a large gap between 1714 and 1728 with no data."

Via email from Curt Talbot 9CurtT@kcsenergy.com) 1 Feb 1999: "Regarding the Snowman data: I am the one who provided the data to Perley Leighton some years ago when I was living in Maine. The direct Snowman data on John and Sarah Snowman and the others is from the family Bible that is held by the Fogg family in Maine. The Bible was Sarah & her husband's so it was old but should be accurate. When I have had a chance to check records, they have matched the Bible."
